WE ARE FAMILY! GET UP EVERYBODY AND SING!
Now is the time to celebrate your family! Your family might be a traditional one or it might consist of friends that you hold dear to your heart. Whoever your family is, this week, BornFit challenges you to show them how much you love them.
Having only one sibling can be hard at times. You have to stick together through the good and bad times, even when you can’t stand each other. My sister, Kassie, and I have fought through it all. We’ve been best friends and we’ve been worst enemies, but I know I can tearfully call her up and blabber out my problems with no judgment. Next weekend, I get to visit her down in Florida, where we’ll get to spend a much needed ‘sister getaway weekend’.
Maybe the kids have been acting up, or your parents are getting under your skin. Push that aside and show them your appreciation. Surprise them with a little gift or set aside some time to do something special together. Plan a family weekend ski trip, take the kids to a movie or maybe a karaoke night is in order. With the holiday craze around the corner now is the time to show them how much they mean to you.
Tell us how important your family is to you and how you plan on showing them your appreciation on the BornFit Blog. You’ll be entered to win the weekly prize and the grand prize, a $100 gift card and a $100 giveaway to the charity of your choice. Comment on the BornFit blog, this week’s contest ends on 11. 16. 11.

My family is my everything..I have an amazing fiance that has chosen to love not only me, but my 3 turbo-charged boys! I am very thankful for my family
My family is my rock and my foundation. Like my Dad always says….Blood is thicker than water. My husband has been an incredible, loving spouse through all the good and bad times. And he has given me three wonderful little boys; they all adore their daddy! My parents are angels sent directly from Heaven and I can’t thank them enough for all the support, compassion and unconditional love they’ve given me. I only wish I can be half the parent they have been to me. My family is my greatest gift and I am truly grateful that God has Blessed me with so much!
I LOVE my daughter, Abby. She lives in Burbank while I live in Washington State. We talk on the phone almost daily. She believed I could run even though I’ve never done it before in my whole life. At age 53 I wasn’t so sure, but I gave it a shot. I was able to run a 5K. She then wanted us to run Disneyland’s Half Marathon! WHAT!?!? I agreed since I would have about 9 months to train. It ended up being my 9th one within the year! We ran it together the last LaborDay weekend and will meet in Vegas next month to run the Vegas RnR! She was going to surprise me and come home for Thanksgiving and run the Seattle Half Marathon with me on my birthday (Nov 27) . Unfortunately after registering a few months ago she started a new job that she cannot get away with an affordable airfare. What a special daughter! My daughter bless my life when she was born, and now as a young adult she has changed my life!
My family rocks – the family I was born into, the family I married into, and the family my husband and I created. I could not be a luckier girl! I am all about doing the little things to show them that I appreciate them. My parents live a mile away and my dad is frequently gone for business during the week. When it snows I like to go over and shovel for my mom. For my brother I make him chocolate chip cookies and for my sister I watch her kids so that she can have a date night with her husband. I show my kids I appreciate them by being present for them (ie. no iPhone in hand checking Facebook!) when we’re spending time together. I appreciate my husband through compliments and words of encouragement. One thing I’ve learned over the years is one size does not fit all when it comes to acknowledging the special people in my life.
