Fitnotic- Prenatal, Postpartum and Mommy & Me Fitness

by BFit! on June 21, 2010

A common goal for many pregnant women and moms is staying in shape through pregnancy and getting back into shape quickly as a new mom.  Unfortunately, many of us also face common obstacles, such as the uncertainty of how to exercise safely throughout pregnancy, and the never-ending struggle to squeeze exercise into our busy lives as moms.  Luckily, Fitnotic – a fitness company specializing in prenatal, postpartum and mommy & me fitness – is helping to make our journey a little easier, healthier, and a whole lot more fun!

Did you know that crunches, sit ups and even getting into and out of bed improperly will lead to a separation of the stomach muscles and result in the appearance of a “mummy tummy”?  We didn’t, until we listened to Fitnotic’s recent presentation at a mom’s event about Diastasis Recti.  Fitnotic founder and owner, Sheryl Wilson, explained that moms must modify every-day activities and do certain exercises during pregnancy and following birth in order to lose their lower belly pooch and avoid having a weakened core, lower back pain, and other potentially serious conditions.

In addition to Diastasis Recti instruction, Fitnotic offers an array of group fitness classes and personal training programs to keep workouts safe, fun and exciting.  Pregnant women and moms can choose from Baby Boot Camp, Hoopnotica Hoopdance, Bounce Baby, Yoga, Kickboxing and Belly Dancing.  Moms interested in working out with their baby are given the option of incorporating baby into many of Fitnotic’s workouts.

Fitnotic encourages all women to join its community.  Fitnotic Moms and their families often meet up for jogs in Central Park, walks over the Brooklyn Bridge (with a stop for pizza at Grimaldi’s and ice cream at the Brooklyn Ice Cream factory of course!), picnics and Mommy’s Nights Out.
